Can i accept both credit card and paypal payments from paypal only

:rocket: May 2026 Updates: Accepting Credit Cards via PayPal Without Stripe

Changes & Current Status:

  • The Funnelish interface for managing payment gateways has been completely upgraded. The old setup path has been replaced by our centralized Payment Gateways dashboard.

  • Depending on your region, PayPal now offers advanced integrations that allow direct on-page credit card processing, meaning customers don’t even have to leave your funnel or open a popup to pay via credit card.

Up-to-Date Information for Using PayPal as Your Only Gateway: If Stripe is not supported in your country, you can absolutely use PayPal to process both PayPal account payments and direct Credit/Debit Card payments. Here is how it works today:

  1. Standard PayPal Guest Checkout: When you connect your PayPal Business account to Funnelish, buyers can click the PayPal button and select the “Pay with Debit or Credit Card” option via the secure PayPal window. This allows them to pay as a guest via card without needing to log in to a PayPal account.

  2. PayPal Advanced Credit & Debit Cards: If your PayPal Business account is registered in an eligible country, you can enable PayPal’s Advanced Credit Card processing. This places the actual credit card input fields directly onto your Funnelish checkout page, giving you a Stripe-like experience using only PayPal!

  3. How to Setup: Go to your workspace Global Settings > Payment Gateways > PayPal and connect your account. Then, inside your funnel step, add the checkout element. You can toggle whether to display just the PayPal button, or both the PayPal button and the direct Credit Card fields.

Technically, you can. But; Credit Card payments will be processed by PayPal on their own secure web page.

PayPal, does offer the option to buy using PayPal Balance, or Credit Card or Bank Account, and those offerings depend on many things such as your customer location, and whether your account is a business one or not.

It’s offered by default by PayPal, but the external credit card option is not offered by PayPal.

You can go under Apps > PayPal Plugin > Settings, and uncheck Credit Card under the gateways group. That will make only PayPal available on your funnel, and then your customers can pick whether to pay using PayPal balance or Credit Card once redirected to PayPal, And they can pay using their Credit Cards without having to have a PayPal account at all.
