Can You Use Funnelish with Shopify Checkout? Here’s What You Need to Know

Integrating Funnelish with Shopify can open new possibilities for creating sales funnels, but there are important limitations and best practices to consider for optimal performance. This article provides guidance on using Funnelish and Shopify together effectively, including the use of pre-landers, tracking conversions, and checkout workflows.

Can Funnelish Pre-Landers Be Used While Directing to Shopify?

You can create pre-landers with Funnelish and send traffic to Shopify product pages, but this approach comes with significant challenges and is not recommended and loses the purpose of all of our features like funnel analytics and tracking events. The main limitations include:

- Tracking Issues: When directing visitors from Funnelish to Shopify, maintaining accurate tracking becomes difficult. For instance, Funnelish does not support proper click-through tracking for buttons that direct externally.

- Ad Platform Concerns: Facebook and other ad platforms may discourage workflows requiring two domains, one for Funnelish (pre-lander) and one for Shopify (product page), as redirects between domains can negatively impact ad performance.

To get the most effective tracking and conversions, Funnelish checkout flows should be used instead of directing traffic to Shopify-based product pages. Our checkout converts up to 3x better than a traditional Shopify checkout and reach around 30% higher AOV due to the unlimited order bumps, and upsells/downsells you can add for free here. Also, we don’t take any transaction fees!

Conversion Tracking and Shopify Checkout

Conversion tracking within Funnelish works exclusively when the Funnelish checkout is used. Funnelish does not support tracking conversions or syncing them back when the Shopify checkout is involved. If conversion tracking is critical for your operation, relying on Funnelish’s built-in features is essential.

Can You Use Shopify Checkout with Funnelish?

While it is technically possible to redirect users from Funnelish to Shopify’s checkout, the approach has multiple drawbacks:

  • Cross-Platform Tracking: Tracking becomes unreliable when the customer journey spans both Funnelish and Shopify.

  • Domain Conflicts: Using two separate domains (one for Funnelish funnels and one for Shopify carts/checkout) may lead to complications with ad platforms like Facebook.

  • Limitations in Passing Data: Moving product details selected in Funnelish to a Shopify cart requires custom JavaScript, which Funnelish does not officially guide or support.

Leverage Funnelish checkout for all transactions. It integrates seamlessly with Shopify to sync post-purchase order data, ensuring reliable tracking and enabling Funnelish-specific features like post-purchase upsells and order bumps.

Shopify to Funnelish Checkout Flow

The flow involving Shopify product pages and carts being handed off to Funnelish checkout is not supported for these reasons:

  • Shopify enforces its own checkout system, making it impossible to directly transfer cart contents to Funnelish.

  • Redirecting customers between platforms disrupts tracking accuracy and shopper experience.

  • Funnelish does not support bridging the platforms via custom coding for this workflow.

  1. Connect Shopify to Funnelish: Use Funnelish integrations to link your Shopify Store.

  2. Set up the product automations: Make sure that the same products are set up in both Shopify and Funnelish and connect the product from Funnelish to the one from Shopify.

  3. Use Funnelish Checkout: Once the order is created, tFunnelish can sync the orders to Shopify seamlessly!

:white_check_mark: For optimal performance when integrating Funnelish with Shopify, using Funnelish’s checkout is highly recommended. This setup preserves tracking, facilitates conversion optimizations, and avoids multi-domain complications.
:white_check_mark: Avoid combining Funnelish with Shopify’s checkout or relying on Shopify for post-lander funnels to ensure a seamless and effective integration experience.
