:light_bulb: Fixing Downsells & Free Trials Not Showing on the Thank You Page

Are your customers skipping right past your downsell, or are your free trial downsell products failing to appear on the final Thank You page? The root cause for this issue nearly always comes down to improper button configuration on your OTO (One Time Offer) steps. This updated guide walks you through the exact button linking requirements to ensure your upsells and downsells flow perfectly into your Thank You page.

  • Implicit Tracking is Not Supported: You cannot simply use a standard URL or checkout link on an upsell/downsell step. Funnelish requires specific OTO action links to register the acceptance or rejection of an offer.

  • Thank You Page Population: The Thank You page dynamically populates based on the exact path the customer took. If the “YES” or “NO” actions are not explicitly defined using our native OTO links, the system will not know to add the free trial downsell to the final order summary.

To ensure your funnel logic works flawlessly and your downsells appear exactly when and where they should, you must configure your button actions inside the Funnelish page builder correctly.

Here is the proper way to set up your upsell and downsell buttons:

  1. Configuring the “YES” Button: * Click on the button you want customers to use to accept the offer.

    • Set the button action to OTO YES LINK.

    • Crucial Step: After selecting the action, make sure to select the specific product (e.g., your free trial product) from the dropdown menu that appears. If a product is not linked to the YES button, the system cannot process the order upgrade.

  2. Configuring the “NO” Button (Decline):

    • Click on the text link or button you want customers to use to decline the offer.

    • Set the action to OTO NO LINK.

    • This ensures the funnel correctly registers a rejection and moves the user to the next logical step (like your downsell) without charging them.

  3. Double-Check Your Funnel Flow: Ensure your downsell step is placed immediately after the relevant upsell step in your visual funnel builder so the “OTO NO LINK” triggers the correct page.

Hi Team, I am facing an issue with the subscription product and 2 weeks trial period on my downsell page.

When I click yes on the down sell page it’s not showing on the thank you page.

also having this issue, can you guys post the solution? $0 trial isn’t showing up on TY page and is not syncing to shopify

thanks, been waiting on a reply from support for a few hours now..

Stripe + Paypal both pick up the transaction for the $0.00 free trial, but it doesn’t show on the thank you page, it also doesn’t sync the order/product to shopify, and it sits as a draft order in funnelish.
