2026 Updates: Fixing Double Purchase Tracking in Facebook Ads
Changes & Current Status:
Double-tracking purchases is a highly common issue. It almost always stems from duplicate pixel setups or failing to use server-side event deduplication properly.
Funnelish is designed to handle all Facebook Pixel and Conversions API (CAPI) events natively, meaning you only need one centralized setup to track your funnel accurately without duplicates.
Up-to-Date Information for Fixing Double Firing: If your Facebook Ads manager is recording every purchase twice, check these three things immediately:
1. Remove Manual Pixel Scripts: The #1 cause of double firing is turning on the Funnelish Facebook Pixel App while also having the raw Facebook Pixel HTML code pasted into your funnel. Go to Funnel Settings > Custom Codes (and check your individual Step Settings). If you see a
<script>tag for the Facebook Pixel, delete it. Let the native app do the work.2. Enable Facebook CAPI for Deduplication: Go to Funnel Settings > Apps > Facebook Pixel. Ensure you have both your Pixel ID and your Access Token (from Facebook Events Manager) pasted here. When both are used, Funnelish sends an identical
Event IDfrom the browser and the server. Facebook recognizes this matching ID and automatically “deduplicates” the event, counting it as a single purchase.3. Check Your Shopify Integration: If you are syncing Funnelish orders to Shopify, Shopify’s own Facebook sales channel app might be firing a purchase event when the order arrives in your store. If Funnelish is tracking the frontend sale, you may need to disable purchase tracking inside Shopify’s Facebook app to prevent them from both reporting the same sale.

Hi,
I am having a problem with tracking.
I am currently only running fb ads,
the funnel is as follows:
FB-> ADV-> LP-> Checkout-> Upsell
The problem is that facebook tracks 2 times each purchase.
I have no tracking app or anything other than Funnelish app
(No tracking on the shopify store)
Any suggestion is super welcome!
