April 2026 Present Update: PayPal Redirects & “Credit Card Declined” (Funnelish V2)
This thread discusses older issues where customers were not redirected to the next step after a PayPal payment. In Funnelish V2, redirects are handled natively and automatically.
What’s Changed & Deprecated
- Manual Auto-Return URLs: You no longer need to go into your PayPal Business settings to set a “Return URL.” In the legacy system, this was problematic because it only allowed one URL for your entire account.
- Redirect Scripts: The old method of using custom scripts to force ClickFunnels to advance to the OTO page is no longer necessary.
Current Behavior: Native Funnel Flow
In Funnelish V2, the system handles the transition between the Order Form, OTOs, and the Thank You page via a server-side connection:
- Automatic Handshake: Once PayPal confirms the payment, Funnelish instantly recognizes the success and advances the customer to the next step you have defined in your Funnel Builder.
- Multiple Funnels: Because the redirect is managed by the Funnelish app (not your PayPal account settings), you can run dozens of different funnels on a single PayPal account without any redirect conflicts.
Troubleshooting “Declined” or “No Redirect” Today
If a customer is not moving to the next step or seeing a “Declined” message:
- Check Product Automation: Ensure you have a product assigned to the step. If Funnelish doesn’t know what product is being bought, it cannot process the “next step” logic.
- PayPal Integration Status: Ensure your PayPal account is connected via the Integrations tab. If the connection has expired, PayPal may process the payment but fail to “ping” Funnelish back.
- Credit Card Declined on OTO: This usually happens if the customer’s bank blocks the second “one-click” transaction. In V2, we recommend enabling PayPal Reference Transactions (if eligible) to improve the success rate of one-click OTOs.

Hi,
When customer’s purchase my product on the order form page they are not taken to the next step in the funnel, but instead just get the generic payment complete and DOESN’T redirect to my next step of the funnel. It has worked with previous funnels but not this one. Could I please get some help with this ASAP?
(Note: The original user resolved this by adding a redirect URL in their PayPal settings, a step that is now automated in the modern Funnelish V2 platform.)
