Google enhanced conversions

Hey, for Google enhanced conversions to work, they need to read an email and name on an upsell/order confirmation page. Is there anyway to have a bit of text on an upsell page with the customers name and email? Adding the email field and having it autofill doesn’t NOT work. It has to be text that I can give the JS to Google to read.

You have to use custom code for Google enhanced conversion. If you are familiar with Javascript then You can get the customer info from local storage and send with the event.

If you need Google conversion event setup with enhanced conversion data then contact me.

Thank you very much. Google conversion tracking accuracy has dropped a lot and it’s hurting my ads like crazy.

Hey, did you get the chance to contact me?

Hi everyone! :waving_hand:

Just reviving this older thread because the tracking landscape—and both ClickFunnels and Funnelish—have changed massively since this was first discussed back in 2023.

If you were pulling your hair out trying to get Google Enhanced Conversions (GEC) working seamlessly back then, I completely validate your frustration. Relying on browser pixels to pass hashed customer data was a nightmare of custom code and workarounds. Thankfully, reality is much simpler today!

Here is the most up-to-date breakdown of how to handle Google Enhanced Conversions now:

:rocket: 1. The Funnelish v2 Way (Recommended & Easiest)

If you are using the modern Funnelish platform for your funnels and checkouts, you no longer need complex Google Tag Manager setups or custom scripts to make this work.

Funnelish now natively supports Server-Side Tracking and Google Enhanced Conversions.

  • Because Funnelish securely processes the checkout, it already has the first-party customer data (email, phone, name, address).
  • When a conversion happens, Funnelish automatically hashes that data (via SHA-256 encryption) and sends it directly to Google’s API on the server side.
  • How to set it up: You simply go to your Funnelish App Integrations > Google Ads, connect your account, input your tracking IDs, and toggle Enhanced Conversions on. That’s it! It bypasses ad blockers and iOS limitations completely.

:gear: 2. The ClickFunnels 2.0 Way

If you are still building and hosting your pages on the new ClickFunnels 2.0 architecture, the old CF Classic workarounds no longer apply. CF 2.0 has a completely entirely new tracking infrastructure.

  • CF 2.0 allows you to add global tracking codes in your Workspace Settings, but to get Enhanced Conversions properly firing with user data, you generally need to rely on a Google Tag Manager (GTM) integration or a third-party server-side attribution tool.
  • You will need to configure your Data Layer in GTM to capture the customer’s email and phone number upon the CF 2.0 form submission or order confirmation page, and map those to the Enhanced Conversion variables in your Google Ads tag.

The Bottom Line:
As browser tracking gets increasingly unreliable, getting GEC running is non-negotiable for Google Ads Smart Bidding to work efficiently. If you want the easiest, most accurate route without touching code, running your checkouts natively through Funnelish is the way to go.

Hope this helps anyone who lands on this thread looking for a modern solution! Let me know if you need help configuring the Funnelish integration.
