How do you handle refunds when orders sync to Shopify? Right now I have to refund in both Shopify and Stripe/PayPal separately, which is annoying especially for partial refunds.
What’s the best way to do this? Do you refund from one place and it updates the other, or is there a better workflow?
Hey @MoneyMagnet , this is a known limitation on our end, totally hear you on the partials being annoying.
Just to understand how it works currently:
When you refund through Funnelish, it does process the refund through the payment gateway (Stripe, PayPal, etc.), so you’re covered on the money side. The catch is that refund doesn’t sync over to Shopify, Shopify just sees the original order and has no idea it was refunded. So you’d still need to pop into Shopify and mark it as refunded manually to keep your records/reporting clean.
Same thing in reverse, if you refund from Shopify’s side, that doesn’t sync back to Funnelish or hit the gateway either. So wherever you start, there’s currently a manual step on the other end.
The cleanest workflow we usually recommend:
Do the refund in Funnelish (it’ll handle the gateway for you)
Then mark it refunded in Shopify just for tracking
Partial refunds work the same way — Funnelish → gateway is fine, Shopify side is manual.
Going to move this thread over to Feature requests since it’s actually something we’re actively looking at; both Funnelish → Shopify refund sync and Shopify → Funnelish refund sync are on the roadmap radar.
