Tbh I think people expect the wrong thing from it. TikTok Shop is an impulse-buy channel: someone sees the video, wants it in that moment, buys. that’s it.. you’re not gonna get loyal repeat customers from it and imo you shouldn’t even try to measure it that way.
The way I see it, it’s basically cheap discovery. get them in the door once, then it’s on you to move them to email/SMS and actually build the relationship there. I think the sellers complaining about no repeat orders are kinda missing the point, as TikTok was never gonna be the place that happens.
So yeah the margins are thin on that first sale. But if you’ve got nothing after that first sale then that’s the real problem, not TikTok.
