Why Are People on My Customers Page Who Didn't Buy?

:date: April 2026 Updates: Understanding Optins, Auto-Optins & Abandoned Carts

If you see people on your Customers Page who haven’t actually bought anything, it means our system has successfully captured them as a lead. This is an intentional and highly beneficial feature designed to help you recover lost sales through Abandoned Cart Automations.

Here is a breakdown of how our lead capture system works and what has evolved since this was first posted:

1. Standard Optins (Submitted) Optins are collected when a user willingly enters their email address and clicks the button to submit the step.

For example, those who filled all of their details, were redirected to Paypal and then dropped out. So even if they bounce on the next checkout step and don’t pay, their profile is saved so you can follow up.

Another example are those who add their emails in the landing page and submit the step.

2. Auto-Optins (Not Submitted) This is where the magic happens! If a customer types their email address into the input field but does not click submit or proceed to the next step, and you have the auto-optin option enabled as shown in the screenshot below, Funnelish will still automatically capture that email after a few seconds of inactivity.

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: What has changed since 2020?

  • Smarter Capture: The Auto-optin technology has become much faster and more reliable, ensuring you don’t lose leads who simply abandon the page while typing.

  • Integrated Automations: Previously, you might have had to export these leads or use third-party workarounds. Today, Funnelish has a robust, built-in Automations system that allow you to trigger emails and sequences the moment these Optins or Auto-optins are captured.

:light_bulb: How to use this to get more sales:

You shouldn’t just let these non-buyers sit on your customers page! You can set up an Abandoned Cart Automation to automatically email them, remind them of what they left behind, and bring them back to finish their order.

I dont know why people are showing up on my customers page when they did not order anything. The balance is 0.00 does that mean my payments are not going thru?

Hey @Humblecommerce,

Those are your customers or in other words (contacts), meaning they have opted into your funnel, and not necessarily that they bought anything from you

In order to see your real orders/sales, then go to Funnel > Orders :

But in my ClickFunnels Contacts I have over 300 People in my Contacts list that opted-in and the Funnelish app theres only 40. Why is that? I just want to make sure people can purchase, I’ve already used the stripe test card and everything went thru. Is there another way I can test if it works?

I assume, you didn’t add all of your funnels, and funnel steps?

Also where did you capture those customers details and when? before or after using Funnelish? Where they captured on a Funnel that was added to Funnelish or on a Funnel that was not?
