How to Fix Wrong Language in Shopify Order Confirmation Emails

Overview

If your order confirmation emails are in the wrong language, this is controlled by Shopify, not Funnelish.

Why this happens

Funnelish does not send any language data when creating orders.

Since the order is created via API (external source), Shopify often falls back to the store’s default language.
This is why the confirmation email may be sent in a different language (e.g., Romanian).

How to fix it:

  1. Go to Shopify Admin

  2. Click Settings → Notifications

  3. Open Order Confirmation

  4. Update the email language or content

Result

Future order confirmation emails will follow your Shopify settings.

Limitations

We currently have no way to send a “language” field from Funnelish.

All email language handling is done by Shopify.

Recommendation

We recommend reaching out to Shopify support to check if they have any workaround for setting email language for API-created orders.
