Coming soon — currently in beta. Smart Currency Converter is rolling out to all accounts in the next few days, and settings may change slightly before launch. This guide will be kept up to date. Watch the Updates category for the launch announcement.
Selling internationally with prices in a single currency is a silent conversion killer: a shopper in Amsterdam seeing $49.00 has to do mental math, wonder about exchange rates, and second-guess the purchase. Smart Currency Converter removes that friction: it shows every visitor your prices in their local currency, and can even charge them in it. Switch it on, pick your currencies, done.

Presentment vs processing: the two currency lists
The app is built around one key distinction:
-
Presentment currencies — the currencies your prices are displayed in. Add as many as you like; visitors see prices in their own currency wherever it’s on the list.
-
Processing currencies — the currencies you actually charge in through your payment gateways. When a customer’s currency is on this list too, they’re charged natively in it — the amount they see is exactly the amount on their bank statement.
So you might present in USD, GBP, EUR, CHF, AUD, and CAD, while processing in USD and GBP — everyone sees a familiar price, and your UK customers get charged in actual pounds.
Why charge in local currency when you can? A customer charged in their own currency skips their bank’s conversion fee and never gets a surprise “different number” on their statement — which means fewer payment declines, fewer “what is this charge?” support tickets, and fewer disputes.
Settings
Open your funnel, store, or portal’s Apps tab, enable Smart Currency Converter, and configure:
-
Auto select a currency based on customer’s location — detects where each visitor is and picks the matching presentment currency automatically.
-
Round prices — converted prices get cleaned up instead of showing raw exchange-rate artifacts. Nobody wants to buy at €43.87; rounding keeps your pricing looking deliberate in every currency.
-
Presentment currencies — the list of currencies your prices can be displayed in.
-
Processing currencies — the list of currencies you can charge in through your gateways.
Save changes and you’re live.
Your processing currencies need to be supported by the payment gateways you’ve connected in Funnelish Pay — check your gateway’s supported currencies before adding one.
How merchants should use it
Turn it on before your first international ad dollar
If your traffic is even 10 to 20% international, you’re already paying for visitors who bounce at an unfamiliar price. The converter is the single cheapest fix: one toggle recovers conversions you’re currently losing silently, with zero page rebuilding.
Present wide, process deliberately
Add presentment currencies generously — every market you get meaningful traffic from deserves a local price display. Add processing currencies more carefully: start with your base currency plus your biggest one or two markets, confirm gateway support and settlement costs, then expand. Displaying is free; charging in a currency is a business decision.
Rounding is not cosmetic
Live exchange rates produce prices like £38.42 that scream “auto-converted” and quietly undermine trust. Keep Round prices on so every market sees pricing that looks like you chose it.
Watch the impact per market
After enabling, compare checkout conversion by country in your GA4 reports. The lift typically shows up in exactly the countries that previously saw a foreign currency — that’s also how you spot which market deserves your next processing currency, or a full Geo-funnel.
Smart Currency Converter vs Geo-funnels
Both help you sell globally — they solve different amounts of the problem:
-
Smart Currency Converter is the easy switch-on. It localizes one thing, the currency, and does it everywhere at once. Perfect for covering the long tail of smaller countries, or for going global quickly without rebuilding anything.
-
Geo-funnels are the ultimate localized experience: a customized funnel per country, with local currency and local pricing, translated content, region-specific images, language, and local payment methods — everything a domestic competitor would have.
They’re not rivals, they’re layers. The playbook we recommend: build Geo-funnels for your top markets, where the full localized experience earns its build time — and let Smart Currency Converter cover everywhere else, so no visitor anywhere sees a foreign price.
