Bundle offers like Buy 2 Get 1 Free are great for average order value, but they can be messy to sync. Without the right setup, a single purchase can land in Shopify as split orders, with incorrect totals or missing free items. Funnelish’s Shopify sync solves this with purchase automations: you create one automation for the paid items and one for the free items, with the free items’ price overridden to $0, and bundling enabled so everything arrives in Shopify as a single, correct order.

How the setup works
Each bundle in your funnel gets its own purchase automations:

Paid items get one automation with the quantity set to the number of paid units. You do not change the price, so Shopify records the amount the customer actually paid.

Free items get a separate automation with the quantity set to the number of free units and the price overridden to $0.

Bundling is enabled on every automation, with a wait of at least 15 minutes before syncing. This gives the customer time to accept order bumps and upsells, so everything merges into one Shopify order instead of arriving as separate orders.
You only create automations for the main bundle products. Free items reuse the same product, they just get their own automation with the $0 price override.

Before you start

Your Shopify store is connected to your Funnelish account.

The products in your funnel also exist in your Shopify store.

Your funnel has its bundle offers added to the checkout page.
Create the automation for the paid items

Open your funnel and click the bundle product you want to sync.

Open Automations and create a new automation.
-
Select the Purchase trigger and continue.
-
Choose Shopify as the action and select your connected store.
-
Select the matching product from your Shopify catalog.

Configure the settings:
-
Quantity: the number of paid units in the bundle (for example, 2 for a Buy 2 Get 1 Free offer).

Enable bundling: on.
-
Wait before bundling: at least 15 minutes.

Override price: leave off, so the real amount paid syncs to Shopify.

Update inventory: optional. Turn it on only if you want Funnelish orders to adjust your Shopify stock.

Save the automation.
Add the automation for the free items
For any bundle that includes free units, create a second automation on the same product:

Create another automation with the Purchase trigger and the same Shopify store.

Select the same product.
-
Configure the settings:

Quantity: the number of free units (for example, 1 for a Buy 2 Get 1 Free offer).

Enable bundling: on.
-
Wait before bundling: at least 15 minutes.

Override price: on, set to $0.
-

Save the automation.
If your bundle also includes separate free gift products, create one automation for each gift product using the same pattern: quantity of the gift, bundling enabled, price overridden to $0.
The price override only affects what syncs to Shopify for the free units. The paid automation still carries the full amount the customer was charged, so your order totals in Shopify match your Funnelish orders.
Example: three bundle offers
Here is how the automations map out for a typical set of offers:

1 unit, no free items: one automation. Quantity 1, bundling on, no price override.

Buy 2 Get 1 Free: two automations. Quantity 2 for the paid units with no price override, and quantity 1 for the free unit with the price overridden to $0.

Buy 3 Get 2 Free, plus free gifts: quantity 3 for the paid units, quantity 2 at $0 for the free units, and one automation per free gift product at $0.
Order bumps and upsells
Order bumps and upsells follow the same pattern. Create a purchase automation on the bump or upsell product, enable bundling, and set the same 15 minute wait. Because bundling is enabled everywhere, anything the customer adds after checkout merges into the same Shopify order.

Test your setup

Place a test order through your funnel and pick one of the bundle offers.

Wait for the bundling window to pass (at least 15 minutes).

Open the order in Shopify and check that:

Everything arrived as a single order, not split across several.
-
The order total matches what the customer paid in Funnelish.
-
Free items appear at $0 with the correct quantities.

In the video example, a Buy 3 Get 2 Free order synced as one Shopify order with a total of $179.85 and five items: three paid units and two free units at $0.
